FAN VIDEO: MCRmy remembers and celebrates the Danger Days Era.

Okay guys, so I need people to send me shit for what is going to be AN EPIC fan video all about the MCRmy during the Danger Days era.

This video is going to be all about the MCRmy celebrating and remembering this era. So first I’m going to describe what is going to be in the video then I will tell you guys the things that I need you to send me.

First, there are going to be 3 sections of the video and I’m going to use the songs Na Na Na, SING and Kids.

NA NA NA section:

It’s all about the Killjoys spirit. Show me your Killjoys gear, something you bought or something homemade. This part will especially be fun for all the great cosplayers I have seen on Tumblr. Send me pictures or short video clips of your Killjoys, whether one of the Fab Four or an original character. If you are not a cosplayer, send me a picture or short clip of just your Danger Days merch or honestly, anything having to do with the Killjoys spirit. Lyrics. Tattoos. The Killjoys are outlaws. I want this section to be all about how the MCRmy STANDS OUT among the crowd. How we are rebels. GET CREATIVE.

I also want everyone to send me a clip or picture of the word NA. It could be written on you, on paper, whatever. GET CREATIVE.

SING section:

This part is going to be all about how ART IS THE WEAPON. The MCRmy has always been extremely talented. Whether artist, photographers, musicians, writers etc. There are so many different kinds of art, I want to see how Danger Days has inspired you in a picture or short clip. Once again GET CREATIVE, because I know you are.

FANS THAT WERE IN THE SING VIDEO: in your email tell me where you are at in the video and I will put that part in the video.

Also, I want everyone that emails me their submissions to include a picture or a short clip of the word SING. Whether its something you drew, wrote on yourself, ANYTHING. Again… BE CREATIVE.

KIDS section:

This album is all about not only who we are, but who we were. For this section I want to see how we all have changed since becoming a fan of MCR. Some of us have been fans for a long time, some only in the last year. It doesn’t matter. Whether in a picture or short clip I want to see who you were around when you discovered the band and who you are now. Whether its a picture of you now, holding a picture of yourself from years ago or something else. Yup, GET CREATIVE. I’m especially excited to see those of us that have been fans since Revenge or longer what we come up with. For those that have not been fans quite that long focus on how this band has changed you and put that into a picture or clip.

OTHER KINDS OF SUBMISSIONS I WANT:

Other than the kinds of submissions I asked for above, there are other things you can send me:

1. Pictures/video of you, your friends at concerts if you went to any this era.

2. If you met the guys this era send me those pictures/videos

3. If you are a musician, I’m going to see if I can do something cool with integrating us playing these three songs along with the album tracks. Send me video of you playing or even singing them.

4. If you have a MCR tattoo, send me a pic of it, no matter what era it’s about. If anyone has video or pics of you getting the tattoo done, even better.

5. READING and ITUNES FESTIVALS: I really want to include pictures and videos of the MCRmy at Reading and iTunes Festivals. If you were there, SEND THOSE PICTURES TO ME.

6. If you guys have any other ideas that I haven’t thought of, just send it to me and I’ll see if I can fit it in.

YOU CAN SEND JUST ONE THING OR MULTIPLE

DEADLINES:

I am going to give you guys ONE MONTH to get stuff in, because I want to give people plenty of time to figure out what they want to send. This should also give the Aussie fans plenty of time to include stuff from Big Day Out. I want everything by February 29th.

ANY QUESTIONS: message me.

Been blasting Danger Days all day, remembering how I felt the first time I listened to it.

Not much about what I felt now has changed. Except for one thing. I’m even more hopeful of the future today than I was a year ago. I have yet again been on another great journey with this band… and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Thank you to Gerard, Mikey, Frank and Ray for always being there. Through everything.

Today’s tribute to Danger Days.

Will be on my arm for work.

Happy Birthday Danger Days!

I remember being so devastated and angry at the same time that I wasn’t able to attend the release party at HoB because there was just no way I could get out of work. It was a new job, and I wasn’t just going to call in sick. Because if this album had come out a little later, I definitely would have.

Ever since attending one of two secret shows at the Roxy in the summer of 2009, I had desperately been waiting for this album. My job was a five minute walk from a Hot Topic. I worked in the morning, so I couldn’t go down there before work to buy one. However, the moment I got out, I basically ran right into Hot Topic and frantically searched for it. They only had one left. Apparently they hadn’t received a very big shipment.

I hiked it back to my car while reading the back and all the song names…instantly sad that Death Before Disco was not among them. (One of the new songs they played at the Roxy). I put the CD in, rolled down my windows and blasted it all the way home. On the way, I remember repeating Planetary at least 3 or 4 times. Already, I couldn’t wait to see that song live. From the first time I listen to Only Hope, I was absolutely convinced Gerard had Bandit in mind while writing it. I still am.

Then Party Poison started playing, I screamed in delight. Death Before Disco ended up on the album after all, just under a new name. At some point I had gotten home and ran into my room, shutting the door behind me, making sure no one would bother me as I finished my first listen through. I was so surprised at Summertime. Although MCR has written many songs about love, in my opinion, they had never written a just pure love song… which is exactly what Summertime is.

And I even got through the first chorus of Kids from Yesterday, I was already in tears. Being a fan since the Bullets Era, I felt as if this song was not only talking about them, but the people that have traveled along with them all these years. Although it could be seen a bunch of different ways, that’s how I listened to it the very first time. I was a kid when I found them. Almost 17, a junior in high school, confused and scared shitless. And then, there I was on 11/22/10, 24, an adult, no longer afraid and perfectly content with who I was. I had made so many journeys with them up until that point and this was just one more. Unlike the rest, this one was about gaining strength from your past and moving forward, bright and hopeful.

That very night, I remember making my mom listen to that song, and I think part of her finally began to understand why I adore this band so much.

What an amazing era it turned out to be.

Thank you Killjoys. Happy Birthday Danger Days.

I’ll miss the Killjoys, honestly.

I mean, I’ve been a fan since Bullets, and I adored the Killjoys. I think I’ll miss the Killjoys more than the Black Parade honestly… idk yet. Post-era depression hasn’t kicked in yet LOL

On the other hand… I’m really fucking excited to see what they come up with next, as always.

Pretty sure I’ve listened to all four albums three times in a row today….

Whenever I do this… I am once again in awe at the transformation and the journeys this band has not only put me through, but came along with me.

I was looking through my youtube videos, and realized i had this. Death Before Disco at the Roxy August 1st, 2009. Before it was Party Poison. :)
